- Check the corners, pick a filter such as Black & white.

How to scan documents to PDF with your phone or webcam
Photograph a document with your camera, or add photos you already have. PDFSheaf finds the page, straightens it, evens out the lighting and saves it as a PDF, privately in your browser.
- Tap Camera and take a photo of the page, or choose Add photos. Lay the page flat on a contrasting surface.
- Check the four corner dots and drag them onto the corners of the page if needed. Pick a filter: Auto, Black & white, Gray or Original.
- Add more pages, reorder them with the arrows, then click Download PDF.
Frequently asked questions
Can I scan a document with my phone in the browser?
Yes. On a phone or laptop, allow camera access when asked and take a photo of each page. If the camera isn't available (for example inside some social-media apps), use Add photos to choose pictures from your gallery.
Do my scans get uploaded?
Your files never leave your device. PDFSheaf runs entirely in your browser, so nothing is uploaded to a server, and there is no account, watermark or sign-up.
How do I get a clean black-and-white scan?
Pick the Black & white filter. It removes shadows and uneven lighting and makes the text dark on a white page. Use the brightness and contrast sliders to fine-tune faint writing.
The edges were not detected correctly. What now?
Drag the four dots onto the corners of the page, or tap Auto-detect again after retaking the photo on a darker or plainer surface. Whole photo uses the entire picture.
Can I make the PDF smaller?
Yes. Set Quality to Small file before downloading. Black & white pages are usually the smallest.
Can I scan multiple pages into one PDF?
Yes. Add as many pages as you like, reorder them with the arrows under the preview, and download them together as one PDF.
